自然的な態度

朝、早くに琴平市の虎丸旅館を出て、

トラックで丸亀市に来て、

ギャラリーarteのコンピューターでこのブログを書き始めました。

今朝の新聞には３紙に私の作品写真が載っているのを旅館の番頭さんに

教えられて、それは有難いと思います。

和室の天井になすとトマトをくっつけて、どこが良いのかと言われるかも知れませんが、

それは、まず、面白いことと、芸術であることの両立が図られているだけでなくて、

彦坂という作家の美術史的な出自への回帰性と、人間としての個人の体験の

原初性への退化性を含んでいるのです。

しかし観客にはそんなことは判らなくて、

ただ、面白いというだけになります。

この落差を埋めることができないところに、

私はむしろ美術の良さがあるように思います。

まあ、だから自分の作品については、あまり書きたくないという気持ちがあります。

合理的な説明にあまり意味を見出さないのです。

このところ考えているのは、人間の自然的な態度の問題です。

先日のアートスタディーズでも、「歴史上最初の・・・」といった言い方をする方がいて、五十嵐さんがたしなめていましたが、歴史というのは実感で語ることは出来ないのです。調べなければ、駄目な領域です。だいたい歴史的には、初めてということはほとんどないのです。

しかし自然的な態度では、初めてと思えることはあるのです。自然的な態度というのは、調査や勉強は嫌いで、自分の直接の感覚だけを強く信じるのです。

この直接的な感覚は、しかし根強いものがあって、誰でもこの感覚を捨てるわけにはいきません。

だから作家も、この直接的な自然的な態度による選択と、これを抑圧し、反省的であるとともに、芸術理論的なはんだんからの選択との、選択の２重性の中で制作をしています。

 観客が持っている自然的な態度も無視は出来ないのです。

しかし、無視した方が良いという考え方もあります。

それも間違いともいえない。

この辺の選択判断は難しくて、答えは出ないのです。

経験的には、観客の要求にストレートに応えることは、

良い結果にはならない。

観客というのは、主体がなくて、責任をとらないからです。

作家は主体ですから、責任だけは取っていかなければならないから、

主体なき人々に応えても意味はないのです。

だからといって無視してよいというものではありません。

どうすればよいのか？

答えは無いと思います。

答えの出ない領域はあるのです。

ともあれ、次元は２つあって、そのひとつは自然的な態度の直接性で、

それはそれで不滅なのです。

この不滅性が自然ということであって、

しかも自然性は実は刻々と変化をしていて、

しかも突如そして、地震のような大変動を引き起こすのです。

わけのわからないことを書いていて恐縮です。
