個展の終了（加筆）

いよいよ個展が終わる。
作品は20点売れた。

作品は４種類出していて、
１つが、新作で《皇居美術館空想》の画像ドローイング１０点
２つめが、新作で、このブログでも掲載していた「新和歌とドローイングシリーズ」１４点
３つめが、連歌という、昔ながらのウッドペインティングの継続作品１０点
４つめが、これもキャンバスの上のウッドペインティングで、４点

１が、２点、
２が、５点、
３が、１０点、
４が、３点売れたのである。

遅れたが、連歌シリーズの小冊子を作ろうとして、
白濱 雅也さんに頼んでいる。
表紙を赤から、黒に換えてもらった。
赤いと〈超１流〉だったが、黒くして〈４１流〉となった。

連歌2008について　　彦坂尚嘉

　
　和歌の作品は、私の母親との関係の中から生みだされた。
　
　母親は、公立中学校（東京都世田谷区立新星中学校）の国語の教師で、和服を着て学校に行く人であった。

　そういう和の趣味の人であったこともあって、現在の皇后である美智子妃の和歌の先生をしていた五島美代子という人に、和歌を長期間習っていた。

　五島美代子は1989年（明治31年）生まれで、成長する我が子に対する愛情、喜びなどを歌にし、「母の歌人」と呼ばれた人である。1957（昭和32）年には第9回読売文学賞を「新輯母の歌集」で受賞している。

　この五島美代子のご主人というのが、五島茂で、経済学者で著書に「イギリス産業革命社会史研究」などがある。同時に歌人で、短歌革新を唱えて、プロレタリア短歌に影響も与えた。

　五島茂は斎藤茂吉とも論争した人でもある。しかも、長く皇族の指導を続け、今上天皇が一四歳であった1948（昭和23）年から和歌の先生をしていた人であったのである。

　私の母は、美智子妃と一緒の先生について、長年にわたって勉強しながら和歌を詠んでいた。それが1976（昭和51）年に、突然にすべての歌を焼いてしまった。　
　
　理由は分からなかったが、和歌を焼いた母に、私は怒った。そして私は、この和歌のウッドペインティング・シリーズを作品として作るようになった。

　こうした動機の中に、オットー・ランクの労作『文学作品と伝説における近親相姦モチーフ』（中央大学学術図書）が指し示すような欲望があるかどうかは分からないが、私の制作としては執拗に制作が展開していくシリーズである。
　
　57577のリズムを使った木の作品は、1977年に初めてつくられている。発表は田村画廊、とは言っても昔の秋山画廊の場所にあった時の田村画廊で、「東京芸術４（フォー）」というグループ展の第1回展に出品された。
　１９６９年に始まるウッドペインティング・シリーズは、白木であったから、こうした木に彩色した作品は初めてで、画廊に来た美術批評家に「現代美術には色は無いはずでしょう」と非難された事を覚えている。今日では考えられない非難だが、私はこうして色彩と形象を復活させる闘いを、誰よりも早くに果敢に展開して時代をリードした。
　
　今から見るとウッドペインティングは、芸術の〈現実界〉化という状況を背景とした作品と言えるのだが、1970年代後半からの私の芸術上の戦いは、作品の中に〈現実界〉〈象徴界〉〈想像界〉の三界を同時に持つ複雑な芸術を回復していくことであった。
　
　今回の《連歌2008》の10作品は、〈41流〉〈超1流〉〈超1流〉の作品で、しかも8点は〈想像界〉〈象徴界〉〈現実界〉の三界を同時表示している作品である。他の2点は、1点は〈想像界〉だけの作品、もう1点は〈現実界〉と〈想像界〉の同時表示で、〈象徴界〉を抜いた制作をしている。そこまでの意識的制作を安定してコントロールできるようになったことにおいて、画期的な連作であった。　　　　　　　　　（2008年2月1日）
