建築ツアー／石上純也

ハードスケジュールで、追いまくられてしまった。

まず、建築ツアーに参加した。
石上純也"神奈川工科大学の工房"

ARTBANKの五十嵐太郎さんのクラスのツアーである。

集合場所：神奈川工科大学　
集合時間：3月1日（土）14:00

本厚木駅からのアクセス
㈰BUS（¥280）
13:32 厚89　本厚木駅 1番乗場 ⇒ 神奈川工科大学前

大きいし、きれいな建築。
"神奈川工科大学の工房"であるが、
柱だけの建築で、仕切りの壁がない。

石上純也さんは、妹島 和世さんの所から出てきた建築家。

［経歴］
1974年生まれ
2000年　東京都芸術大学大学院修了
2000-2004年　妹島建築設計事務所勤務
2004年　石上純也建築設計事務所設立

妹島建築設計事務では、梅林の家の担当であったと聞いているが、
確認していない。

妹島建築が彦坂的には《6流》のミースを汲む流れであるのに、
石上純也のそれは〈超1流〉〈超1流〉〈超1流〉で、
〈非-実体性〉があって、
私の評価は高い。

気になるのは、合法的で、デザインであること。
建築はデザインであるではないかと言われるかもしれないが、
もともと建築は大芸術であって、
〈非-合法性〉のある建築は、たくさん歴史上にあるのである。
それこそコルビジェの建築には〈非−合法性〉があって、
大芸術になっている。

伊藤豊雄の仙台メディアテーク でも気になったのは、
この合法性。
合法的な表現というのは、社会性は高いから確かに魅力があるが、
しかし歴史的には弱い。
古くなるのだ。
古くなっても人に感動を与えると言うことが起きない。
まあ、それでも良いのかもしれないが・・・。

３００本を越える柱に、予算も意識も注ぎ込まれている建築。
石上純也氏の、この集中的突破法は、みごとなもの。
建築家魂を感じることができる。

この柱の決定については、
石上さん本人からも話を聞き、
五十嵐太郎さんの解説も聞いたが、
この柱の位置の決定段階で〈非-合法性〉をいれることはできたと思うが、
妹島さんも合法的だから、
もともと石上さんにも〈非-合法性〉に対する意識や興味がないのだろう。

とにかく出来上がった建築は、
クライアントの欲望と、
建築家の欲望が、正面から抽出されている名作と言える。

２００を越える柱の断面形状に差というのは、
若い建築家の格闘としては高く評価する。
しかし、方法論としては、実は問題を認識していないと、
私には見えるが、それは、とりあえずは、置いておこう。

五十嵐さんから、プランの発展のプロセスを聞いたが、
基本は普通のグリッドから始まっている。
モダニズムの文法を、内側から越える試みとして、
面白い才能であるが、数学や、複雑系の科学、そして現代美術の格闘から見ると、
建築は遅れて走ってきて来ているように見えなくもないが、
それだから逆に面白いとも言える。

隣のビルの上から、下を見る形でもこの建築を鑑賞。
この平面図は、直角の矩形ではなくて、ややゆがんでいる。

連絡して彦坂敏昭さんもツアーに参加させてもらった。
こうした新鮮な建築を見ておくことは、
彦坂敏昭さんの様な若いアーティストには凄く良い勉強になるはず。

追加である。
この建築は、ハイアートでも、ローアートでもなくて、
メディアムである。
この後見た山田守の東海大学の建築がハイアートであるのと、
対照的に感じた。
